AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Although John A. Coniglio, CPA has experience and expertise with many areas of accounting and taxation, he has chosen to concentrate primarily on the following.
SMALL BUSINESS ACCOUNTING & CONSULTING
John’s main constituency is now – and always has been – the small business owner. We recognize the unique place that small businesses have in our society and economy, as the number one creator of new jobs and embodying the entrepreneurial spirit of small business owners that has made this country great.
Our small business services include accounting, reporting and planning for success. Of course, a main focus is minimizing taxes, using the savings to create wealth for the business owner, and providing opportunities for their employees, vendors, customers, and others. We are here to help small business stay in compliance and out of trouble, become more efficient and profitable, and meet challenges when and where they arise.
NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
John considers it an honor to serve and support the not-for-profit organizations that make our community a better place and provide for important needs that cannot be met by government or individuals alone. Our not-for-profit clients have included churches, adoption agencies, traveling evangelists, property-owners’ associations, chambers of commerce, an actor’s conservatory, and other charitable organizations.
We have assisted with establishing and maintaining non-profits. This is very important since the legal and accounting changes designed to enhance compliance and transparency in the for-profit world are rapidly spilling over to the not-for-profit arena also. Case in point: the IRS recently overhauled its Form 990 (the information return that most non-profits file annually) – for the first time in 30 years – and now requires more disclosures and attention to proper policies and procedures.
PROBLEMS RESOLUTION
John actually enjoys the challenge of helping businesses and individuals navigate their way through troubled times. This may include dealing with the IRS, restructuring business operations and debt, assisting the insolvent taxpayer, litigation and bankruptcy support, accounting outsourcing, new business formations for displaced workers choosing to become self-employed, fixing an accounting mess, and otherwise helping people face the challenges of today’s difficult economy.
